Brenda Fraser

Brenda Fraser was inspired to make jewelry after attending a workshop with Sri Baba, Wayne Dyer’s spiritual guru, in October 2005 at the Holistic Living Expo held in St. Louis.  She made a set of meditation beads and realized how much joy and peace comes from expressing her creativity within. She has designed jewelry for more than 10 years, and loves co-owning Butterfly & Moon in historic St. Charles, MO.

Currently, Brenda is the weekly host of “Alive to Thrive with Brenda Fraser” on Blogtalk Radio where she has interviewed hundreds of authors, musicians, and motivational speakers. Some of these authors are featured in the boutique. She was named 2010 “Beyond the Best” recipient by Streetscape Magazine and “Professional Woman of the Year” in 2003 by the Colorado Business Council. She is a Past President of a local Zonta Club, and is currently the President of Zonta eclub USA-1 (www.zonta.org). She is committed to empowering women through her jewelry creations as she often chooses beads from parts of Africa, such as Ghana, where women rely on bead-making for income.  Her motto is, “Changing the world – one bead at a time!”

Patrice Billings

Patrice retired in 2009 as the Chief Helicopter Pilot for the St. Louis County Police Department where she served for more than 28 years. She was on SWAT for 10 years and is a precision marksman. Perhaps that is where she gets her amazing talent for perfection and detail!  She is a Past President with a local Zonta Club and is currently involved with Zonta eclub USA1 (Zonta.org) and served as a past board member of Safe Connections. She was nominated for an “American All-Stars Hero” award with the TV-show America’s Most Wanted.

Patrice Billings loves working with tools!  She can fix and build anything and has done rehabs on homes, including her own where she built a stone patio. With Butterfly and Moon Designs, she works with much smaller stones!  She discovered her passion for jewelry making while helping Brenda fix some rosary beads that were with Brenda’s mother on the day of her death in a car crash.  Since that first “fix”, Patrice now focuses on developing her skills with wire-wrapping semi-precious stones, creating pendants and one-of-a-kind items.  She loves working on custom orders, designing the perfect wedding set, or repairing Vintage pieces.

Cory Newman

My name is Cory Newman. I currently reside amid the lakes and woods of northern Minnesota where I am pursuing my lifelong dream of creating art for a living. I’ve always loved nature, and I’ve always loved attempting to create beautiful things - I've always been interested in the healing power of both.
Birch Barking Mad Creations is my attempt at sharing my experiences with creativity and nature with others. All of my jewelry is made using birch bark which was sustainably harvested from fallen birch trees. A lot of work, love, and joy went into creating these pieces, with the hope that each piece would find its way to someone who would appreciate being able to always keep a piece of nature close to them!

Joan Marie

LIFE is MEANT to be FUN! I believe EVERY DAY is a HOLIDAY!!

At age 19 I was awestruck by Michelangelo’s Sistine Ceiling. Profoundly inspired by the incredible power of art, my life’s purpose to add positive energy to the world through art, became a burning passion!! OH YES!!! Join me to raise the happiness level one colorful product at a time! EXCITING!!! Through the years my colors evolved from black and white to my current radiant RAINBOW BRIGHT Palette!! FUN!! I no longer have neutrals in my closet! HA! I believe in COLOR! Color brings smiles and radiates energy.

My art career began with inspired ethereal drawings. My work was licensed by multiple companies for years, selling millions of products such as collector plates, transfers, stationery, puzzles, etc: gracing dozens of books and magazine covers, and purchased by hundreds of private collections around the world.

Inspired by music, I created Abstract “Music Paintings”: intuitively transforming the energy of one’s favorite song into a wild and mystical abstract painting. The response was explosive. I was elated, but felt something was missing with pure abstraction. The exciting solution was to combine the delicate and romantic realism from my fine art training with the fearless vitality of abstract painting. Now the high energy of both worlds is experienced in one powerful expression.

I believe in the fun of discovering what lights you up in life! As a high school art teacher my vision for every student was to be in love with themselves, helping them to discover and expand who they are. I am currently writing a book!! “Living Life on a RAINBOW!- transforming from insecurity to WILD confidence!”

John Marchello

John has been a silverware artist since 2009.  The entire process began when his dad opened up a napkin at a restaurant and found his fork was bent out of shape.  He imagined that he could intentionally bend a fork to create something unique.  John’s inspiration comes from creating products that are completely re-imagined.  All of his products are completely recycled, and every point of production is tuned so that his products are made in the most environmentally and socially responsible manner possible.  His art reveals the beauty that can be found in objects many consider outdated or useless.
